Installs new loading bay doors at £40 million Comet distribution centre.

Advanced Doors Ltd has recently completed a major distribution centre installation for Comet PLC. Comet PLC invested £40 million in the 380,000 sq ft site at Harlow Retail Park, Edinburgh Way, Harlow.

Comet PLC are one of the UK´s largest electrical retailers with over 250 stores nationwide and celebrated their 75th Anniversary in 2008.

Advanced manufactured and installed 46 Electrically Operated ‘Thermalex 401´ Insulated Sectional Overhead Loading Bay Doors finished in RAL 9006 metallic silver. Each door is complete with a PCD ‘security type´ vision panel. All doors were provided with a programmable LED display maintenance indicator.

Advanced worked alongside Marbank Construction Ltd (Welwyn Garden City), the main building contractors, to complete the installation which will allow deliveries and dispatches to be made from the distribution centre each day of the week.

This project was successfully completed within the required timescales and to the complete satisfaction of all parties concerned.

Advanced are currently CDM competent ‘Comet Trade Contractor´ having been assessed by Eurosafe UK. This assessment allows us to carry out maintenance and repairs to any Comet door installations at any of their stores throughout the UK.
